Mini Clubman Air Conditioning Problems

The temperature gauge was acting weird, and the air conditioning wouldn't kick on. Have you checked the vehicle maintenance records for any recent sensor calibration? Just thinking out loud here, but maybe that could be a factor?

Well, I'm still learning myself, but from what I gathered, a faulty sensor can sometimes throw off the whole system's readings and trigger the air conditioning to shut down as a safety measure. However, I have no idea on the Mini. Given the error messages, it's possibly more than just calibration. Probably best to bring the vehicle to a workshop.

A massive thank you for your input! I took it to a recommended service center, and it turned out, after a bit of head-scratching, that the temperature sensor heat exchanger was indeed defective, leading to all sorts of issues with the HVAC system. It's going to set me back around 980€, sadly. At least now my Mini Clubman will be back to normal, and I can use the air conditioning again. I am glad it wasn't a coolant leak too!
