Mini Clubman AdBlue Issue

My 2015 Mini Clubman diesel is exhibiting a concerning issue. The AdBlue tank appears empty, triggering an error message on the speedometer and storing an error in the memory. Consequently, the engine refuses to start. Initial assessment suggests a defective AdBlue output from the tank to the dosing unit. Is this a common failure mode?

Whoa, sounds familiar! I had a similar scare with my Clubman. AdBlue light came on, then the errors started piling up. Couldn't get it started at all! I was bricking it thinking about the tank capacity and the whole injection system playing up. Did you check the pump? That's where my issue was. It's like the AdBlue was trying to get through a blocked pipe. It still had some juice but wasn't flowing properly. Might be worth a look before you panic!

When you say pump, are you referring to the output from the AdBlue tank to the dosing unit? Was the error message identical? I'm attempting to ascertain if this is a widespread weakness in the emissions control system.

Yep, same error messages. And spot on, the output from the tank. Honestly, I'm no mechanic, so I just took it to a workshop. They plugged it in, ran some tests, and boom, diagnosed it pretty quickly. If you're not 100% sure, I'd advise getting it checked out professionally. Messing with the injection system without knowing what you're doing could be a costly mistake, especially with the SCR catalyst involved.

I appreciate the confirmation. The AdBlue pump was indeed defective. Replacement cost approximately 250€. The injection system is functioning normally again, and I trust the SCR catalyst will continue to manage emissions control effectively. Fuel efficiency appears to be returning to its expected level.
