Mini Cabrio Power Windows Suddenly Stopped Working

Alright, diving into this power windows problem on my 2007 Mini Cabrio. Both power windows suddenly stopped working simultaneously. I've scanned the error memory and it shows a fault related to the power windows. From what I've researched, a defective power window switch is the most likely culprit, but is there something I am missing? Could it be the window track? Anyone experienced something similar, or have any suggestions before I start tearing into the door panel?

Oh man, power windows issues are the worst! I had something similar happen on my Mini, although I don't remember the exact mileage. Were you able to hear any clicking sounds when you tried to operate the power windows? I was worried it was the window regulator motor itself, those can be pricey. Have you checked the fuse box at all, is it possible a fuse blew?

No clicking sound at all, just complete silence when trying to use the power windows. I did check the fuses, and they all seem fine. When you had this problem, did the windows just suddenly stop working, or was it more gradual? Did you end up replacing the window regulator or just the switch?

Yeah, mine just suddenly stopped working too. No warning at all. I also checked the fuses first, but they were all good. Honestly, I didn't want to mess with the window regulator myself, so I took it to an automotive repair shop. They diagnosed it as the power window switch, replaced it, and that fixed the problem. I would suggest going to a workshop!

Update on my power windows issue: took the Mini Cabrio to an automotive repair shop. Turns out, as suspected, the power window switch was defective. They replaced it, cleared the error memory, and now the power windows work perfectly again. Total cost was around 200€. Thanks for your input, it helped me narrow down the problem!
