Mini Cabrio Indicator Light Issue

I'm having a bit of trouble with the indicator light on my 2013 Mini Cabrio. It's a diesel model. I'm getting an error message in the speedometer, and the signal lamp just isn't working. I ran a diagnostic, and it says there's an error stored in the error memory, and the likely cause is a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Any ideas what I should check before taking it to the workshop? They quoted me around 95€ for the repair.

I also own a Mini Cabrio and experienced something similar a while back. The error message in the speedometer and the fault in the lighting are indeed quite concerning. Did you check the flasher relay? A defective relay can sometimes cause such issues. Also, is the indicator light completely dead, or is it just flickering?

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the flasher relay yet, to be honest I'm not entirely sure where to find it in my Mini Cabrio. As for the indicator light, it's completely dead. No flickering, no nothing. Could it still be the relay if the light doesn't even try to turn on?

Given that the indicator light is completely dead, it's less likely to be just the relay, although it cannot be ruled out completely. It does sound like the diagnostic report is accurate. A faulty connection is a common problem in automotive lighting systems. Considering the potential electrical fault and your diagnostic report, I would recommend taking it to a workshop. They will be able to properly diagnose and repair the wiring issue.

Just wanted to give a quick update. Took the Mini to the workshop, and you were spot on! They found a faulty connection in the signal lamp wiring, just like the diagnostic report suggested. 95€ later, and the indicator light is working perfectly again. Thanks a lot for your help!
