Cheers for the quick reply! Yeah, I was suspecting something along those lines. When you say 'faulty connection', do you mean a loose plug or something more serious like a damaged cable? Did you fix it yourself, or did you take it to a workshop?

I didn't fix it myself, no. It was a corroded connector on the fuel filter heater cable so similar to what you are thinking. The error code pointed me in that direction, but I wasn't confident enough to mess with the fuel system myself. If you're not comfortable doing electrical work, especially around fuel lines, I'd recommend getting it checked by a pro. It could save you a lot of headaches (and potential fire hazards!)

Okay, so just wanted to update you. Took the Mini to the workshop. Turns out it was indeed the fuel filter heater the cable was corroded like you suggested. They replaced the heater and the connector, and now she's running like a dream! Cost me 95€ all in. Thanks a lot for your help, you saved me a ton of guesswork!

That sounds eerily familiar! I had similar symptoms with my Mini Cabrio though mine's an older model. Rough idle, felt like I was dragging an anchor, and the fuel consumption was just insane. Have you checked the fuel filter itself? I had a similar power loss and rough idle, and it turned out to be a faulty connection to the fuel filter heater. It's worth a look!
