Mini Cabrio Diesel Issue

Forced regeneration usually requires diagnostic equipment, so you'd need a compatible OBD tool or a trip to the shop. Given the reduced power and smoke, a faulty exhaust back pressure sensor is a strong possibility. A leak would typically cause high pressure readings. Considering everything, taking it to a workshop for a proper diagnosis and sensor replacement is probably the best course of action.

I haven't tried forcing a regeneration cycle. How would I do that? And regarding leaks, I visually inspected the exhaust system but didn't find anything obvious. Is there a more reliable way to check?

Just wanted to give an update. It was indeed the exhaust back pressure sensor. Got it replaced, and the error is gone. Total damage was 245€. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Low pressure in the diesel exhaust usually points to a DPF issue. Have you tried forcing a DPF regeneration cycle? What kind of driving do you usually do? Short trips can clog the filter pretty quickly. Also, have you checked for any leaks in the exhaust system itself?
