Mini Cabrio bumper antenna issue

I am writing to report an issue I am experiencing with my 2017 Mini Cabrio, which currently has 61466 km. Specifically, I am encountering an issue with the bumper antenna. The symptoms include an error stored in the error memory, the unlocking or locking function no longer working properly, and the engine no longer starting without the key in the ignition lock. Is it plausible that a defective cable or plug connection of the component is the root cause?

Interesting. Was the issue related to the vehicle antenna itself, or some other component causing the signal interference? Was the unlocking issue happening because of the fm antenna?

In my case, the problem was indeed linked to the vehicle antenna system. The unlocking issue was intermittent, similar to what you describe. Given the cost you mentioned, it would be advisable to take it to a workshop.

I appreciate you sharing your experience. It seems a defective cable or plug connection of the component was indeed the root cause, according to the error memory. The automotive antenna was replaced at a cost of 95€. Everything is functioning correctly again.
