Hey there, sounds like your Toro went through a bit of an ordeal, glad to hear it's sorted now. Just wondering how much did the whole operation set you back? And since you had it fixed, has anything else popped up or she's been riding smooth? Partnering with a good mechanic is like finding the holy grail, if you know what I mean. Looking to get my Strada sorted without anymore headaches. Cheers for the advice.
Hey, yeah my Toro did give me a bit of a sweat at that time but once it was sorted, it's been smooth sailing! As for the costs, they did sting my pocket a bit, totalling 175.00 € just for sorting out the wrong engine oil fiasco. But hey, it's better than having a busted engine in the long run, right? As for post repairs, since I had the problematic low engine oil pressure nailed down by the mechanic, there haven't been any surprise problem from her end. She's been running as smooth as butter. So, just get your Strada to a reliable mechanic these things do come up but it's nothing a good mechanic can't handle. Anyway, good luck with getting your situation sorted. Your Strada's worth the effort!
Thanks a ton for the reassurance! Hearing about your smooth-sailing Toro really helps. Yeah, further damage down the line would be a way worse scenario than a one-time expense of around 175€. You've summed it up perfectly that a reliable mechanic can handle things well. I'm going to get my Strada sorted as soon as possible. Cheers for sharing your experience, it really eased my mind; it's time to look after this baby! Take care now!
Hey, ran into a pretty similar situation with my 2017 Fiat Toro about six months back. My "Check Engine" light was on, and I was getting all sorts of odd sounds from the engine. After a bit of investigation, turned out the previous owner had put in the wrong engine oil type for my model which was causing the issues. Heading to the mechanic was a bit of a hassle, but they had to do a full oil change, flush the system and replace the oil filter. They also had to remove all metal shavings from the oil pan. And oh boy, was that a necessary step. Those shavings can do serious damage in the long run. On the bright side, after the work was done, my Toro was humming like a bird again. So my advice? Get her to the garage asap, and make sure they check everything thoroughly. While it's a bit of a pain, it's definitely not the end of the world. Good luck with your Strada!
