Hey, sure, I can still remember that! The repair with the engine cleaning for the deposits in the combustion chamber cost me around €425 at the time. I know that's pretty expensive, but since I've been to the mechanic, the problem with the knocking combustion on at least one cylinder has been blown away. So it was definitely worth it. Since then, my Sprinter has definitely been running like clockwork again and there have been no further problems. Hope this helps you!

Hey, great, thanks for the info! That's a lot of money, of course, but if it's as worthwhile as yours, then it seems to be an investment that makes sense. I'm pleased that your Sprinter is now running well again and hope my repair goes as smoothly! Thanks again for the helpful feedback. I'll make an appointment at the garage. See you then and have a good trip!

Hello I need help for my viano 2.2 CDI 150 horses let me start by saying that I bought it and after some time I started to hear knocking combustion at low revs when starting and jerking while driving between 2000-2500 revs it turned out that one injector was inserted from another model with different numbers so I bought 2 new ones and changed the wrong one and the other one because it turned out that it was overflowing and the problem disappeared but only for about 800 km. And again the same thing I returned so all the injectors to check the new ones were ok and the other two were remanufactured put in and coded and again about 800 km. All good and suddenly the problem returned so the EGR was plugged and again the same thing some time good and again knocking and jerking now the fuel pressure valve was replaced but it helped only for a while and still the same thing and on top of that no errors

It sounds like you've already done a lot of troubleshooting, but the problem keeps recurring. One thing you could check is the fuel quality and the fuel filter. Poor quality fuel or a clogged fuel filter can cause knocking and jerking. If the fuel system is not the issue, it might be worth checking the engine control unit (ECU) for any software issues. If the problem persists, I would recommend having a mechanic inspect the vehicle, as this could be a more complex issue. Please keep us updated on your progress. Do you have any other questions?

The fuel filter was replaced along with the injectors. ECU mechanic checked and says that he sees no problem there, says that he also uploaded the original program at the moment everything is as it should be in the controller and strangely enough does not see any errors even after disconnecting the EGR cube I was even thinking of changing the controller but it involves further disputable costs to there is still coding or there to remove the immobiliser

I have refueled with different fuels, but still the same thing, although on verva it was a little quieter I also added injector cleaner, but unfortunately it has no effect

It seems like you've covered most of the common issues. At this point, it might be worth checking the timing chain. If it's worn or stretched, it can cause knocking and jerking. However, this is a more complex task and should be done by a professional mechanic. If the issue persists, it might be a deeper mechanical problem that requires a thorough inspection. Please keep us updated on your progress. Do you have any other questions?

I rather doubt that it is a mechanical cause such as timing because, for example, after coding the injectors everything is fine for a while and then comes back after some time as if something is constantly changing the fuel mixture to the fact that before the engine warms up it runs evenly and quietly.

Hey, I can understand you, I had the same problem with my 2008 Mercedes Sprinter. The mechanic at the garage discovered that there were deposits in the combustion chamber. He then cleaned the engine to remove the deposits, after which the car ran like clockwork again. So, it was definitely a serious problem. But don't worry, it's usually easy to fix. Hope your repair goes smoothly too! Good luck!
