Mercedes Vito 2005: Convertible roof defect and warning lights - search for a recommended mechanic
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Mercedes Vito is experiencing issues with a convertible roof that won't operate and warning lights for the speedometer and airbag. The problem might be related to a malfunctioning rollover sensor. A suggested solution is to check for a faulty fuse, as a similar issue was resolved by replacing a fuse in another vehicle. Seeking a knowledgeable mechanic is recommended to address these concerns.

Hey, that sounds really bad with your Vito. I once had a similar problem with my old Benz. Do you remember how much you paid for the repair? And has anything happened since then, or is your Sprinter now running perfectly again? Thanks to you!

Yes, my Sprinter has been running perfectly again since my visit to the mechanic. The malfunction of the rollover sensor has been rectified. I paid just under €52 to fix the faulty fuse. So nothing else has happened since then. I hope this also solves your problem with the Vito!

Hey, thanks for the info and the tip about the fuse. I'll definitely have that checked. Glad your Sprinter is running again and it wasn't too expensive. I just hope I have the same luck with my Vito! Thanks again for the help guys!

Hello, I recently had similar problems with my 2002 Mercedes Sprinter. I went to the mechanic and it turned out that the fuse was faulty. Yes, it was quite serious because it stopped the car, so not something you can ignore. In my case it wasn't a rollover sensor, it was the fuse itself that needed replacing. So definitely see a mechanic who knows about this sort of thing. Good luck with that!
