Mercedes E-Klasse Electrical Issues: Seeking Schematics and Voltage Parameters

Cruise control without function

I'm dealing with a series of electrical malfunctions in my Mercedes E-Klasse, including non-functional cruise control, park distance control, and general electrical issues. I suspect mice damage to the wires. Despite my background in automotive mechanics, I'm struggling to find the necessary resources online, such as schematics and voltage parameters. Mercedes hasn't been helpful, and my last experience with their service was unsatisfactory. I've checked the fuses and wiring on the steering rack, but I still have no electric steering and no input from the steering angle sensor. Driver assistance, park assist, and cruise control are also non-functional, despite all sensors and cameras working. Can anyone provide links to detailed schematics, voltage parameters, or other resources that could help me troubleshoot and fix these issues? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Start by inspecting the wiring harness for any visible signs of damage, especially in areas prone to rodent activity. Check the connections and grounds related to the steering angle sensor and electric steering system. If you haven't already, try using a diagnostic tool to scan for error codes that might give more insight into the specific issues. Let me know how it goes or if you need further assistance.

I am almost sure it’s rodent damage. I just don’t know where this sensor is and where it goes. With that information I would be able to fix it. Wire routing diagram?

I recommend checking the area around the steering column and under the dashboard for the steering angle sensor and its wiring. Look for any signs of chewed wires or insulation. If you can access a repair manual specific to your model, it should provide wire routing diagrams. Alternatively, consider using an online service like Alldata or Mitchell1 for detailed schematics. Let me know if you need more guidance or have any questions.
