Moin Moin! Sure, I still remember the repair costs. I had to fork out a thousand for the repair of the defective engine control unit. But rest assured, since the visit to the mechanic, the fault in the alternator was rectified and I had no further problems. The car has been running perfectly ever since. I hope it will be the same for you! Good luck, buddy!

Thank you for your quick and detailed reply. That reassures me a little. Of course, a thousand is a lot of money, but if everything works again afterwards, it's worth it. I will definitely have it checked at a good workshop. It's always good to hear other people's experiences before embarking on a repair like this. Thank you very much for your help! I'll get back to you as soon as I have any news. See you then!

Hi mate, I had a pretty similar problem last year with my Mercedes A-Class, diesel, built in 2012. It turned out that the engine control unit was faulty. The symptoms were exactly like yours, engine stalled, ABS not working properly and lights flickering. This was a serious problem, but after it was fixed at the garage, I didn't notice any more problems. You should take your car to a garage immediately. Hopefully that will help you!
