Hey, good to see some fellow Mazda owners riding to the rescue! Your experience definitely sounds similar. Was just wondering, if you don't mind me prying into your finances, how much did the whole repair put you back? And has anything else popped up since you got it sorted? Cheers!

Hey there! No worries about the financial question, we're all here to help, right? Fixing that incorrect fuel pump software cost me just 45.00 €. Quite a relief, because we all know how repair costs can skyrocket. And about your second question - thankfully, no, it's been smooth sailing since the fix. Specifically addressing your initial thought - that low pressure fuel system fault? Ain't been a bother since my trip to the mechanic. Our Mazda is now purring like a kitten, no black smoke or strange exhaust smells since the fix. Hope your repair experience turns out just as smooth. Cheers!

Wow, this really does sound like a godsend! I've been so worried about the repair costs shooting through the roof again, you won't believe! And it's always encouraging to hear the 'no problem after the fix' part. Your help is truly appreciated. I suppose off to the mechanic she goes again then. Fingers crossed it's just the software acting up on my old gal too like your rig. Thanks a bunch, really! This conversation has helped me out loads!

Hey, sorry to hear about your Mazda Tribute woes. I reckon it's a tough situation. If it helps at all, I had a similar ordeal last year with my Mazda CX-5 2017. The symptoms were almost identical except mine didn't conk out completely. It took a bit of diagnosing but they found incorrect software values for the fuel pump. Seems like the software was sending the wrong signals leading to varied fuel discharge, caused black smoke, stumbling, and a thirsty engine. Of course, I ain't a car genie, but your situation sounds pretty parallel to mine. Getting the software updated to correct fuel pump values did the business for my rig. It wasn't a simple job but it certainly wasn't the worst issue I've dealt with either. Definitely see a mechanic preferably a decent one. Maybe it's the same problem, maybe not, but that's my two cents. Good luck with it!
