Yo, cheers for the tip! It definitely sounds like our issues could be coming from the same root. The whole 'injector gone rogue' scenario you described sheds light on my Mazda situation pretty perfectly. Totally feeling you on the whole "dig deeper into your pockets every time you get near a petrol station" vibe, it's been a pain. Glad to hear that you were able to sort out your defective injector just in time. I guess I'd better hustle and get mine checked out as well, don't want to end up with a toast engine. By the way, do you remember how much damage it did to your wallet when you had that injector problem fixed? And since you got it sorted, did you notice anything else or was that the last of it? Cheers!
Hey there! Yep, the cash drain at the gas pumps is a gut punch, isn't it? Can totally empathize with that feeling. As for your question about how much the repair job set me back, well, that injector fix wasn't exactly a bargain but much cheaper than a new engine, if I dare to say. It ended up costing me around 515.00 €. It was a bit of a sting, won’t lie, but totally worth it in the end to get my trusty Mazda purring again. I'm pleased to report that ever since the mechanic gave it a once-over, the mixture control error I was fretting about got sorted as well. That was the icing on the cake I needed after all this. So, no more issues since then, touch wood! My car's been running much smoother and that black smoke's a thing of the past. Hope you get yours sorted soon too. Here’s to stress-free motoring!
Hey, thanks for the heads up on the cost! It's a bit of a wallet drainer but I definitely agree with you that it's cheaper than a new engine. Yeah, I'd prefer to have my Mazda sorted and running smooth once more too. It's such a relief to hear that you haven't had any more mix control issues since the repair and that black smoke monster is finally gone. Fingers crossed that I have the same luck. I'm already looking forward to that unforgettable joy of stress-free motoring! Thanks again for taking out the time to share your experience, it's been a massive help. Cheers!
Hey! Got a 2005 Mazda Demio, and the same issue popped up a while back - black smoke and everything. Turns out, it was a defective injector. This bugger fouls up your fuel mixture, no question about it. My car was chugging fuel like a gone-mad rally car and the lack of power had me scratching my noggin. The nasty exhaust smell simply put the icing on the cake. To paint a clearer picture, when the injector went rogue, it began dumping fuel into the engine in an uncontrolled manner, resulting in a rich mix (that's too much fuel, not too little). The choking engine can't burn all that fuel properly, hence the black smoke, power loss, and the god-awful smell. The extra fuel also causes the engine to sputter and compels you to dig deeper into your pockets every time you get near a petrol station. Had it sorted out at the garage by swapping out the faulty injector. It was a serious enough issue, but they caught it just in time, before I turned my engine into a smoky remains of itself. I'd suggest you get it checked sooner rather than later - and if the symptoms match, a defective injector might indeed be your criminal. Good luck!
