Hey, appreciate your kind response! My Scrum is pretty basic - it's got a 660cc engine and it's an automatic. The mileage is pretty low, just 10778 KM. Other than the battery issues, I've also noticed a bit of a delay in acceleration recently which is quite odd. Nothing major, but it's something I've been trying to keep an eye on. I hope that additional info helps! Thanks again for your help.
Hey! Your situation gets more similar to mine - I also had some noticeable delay in acceleration which went hand in hand with these light/battery issues. For me, those were basically symptoms of the faulty battery sensor, so you may be onto something here. The microprocessor in the sensor can go haywire and cause unusual electrical behavior. This can mess with a bunch of things like the battery charging itself properly, the lights' brightness, and even engine management - so that could explain your acceleration issue. As your Mazda Scrum is less complex than my Mazda Demio, I reckon the fix might even be cheaper for you. Just keep in mind, replacing parts like these aren't really a DIY job unless you've got the right equipment, so you'd better bring it to the workshop. Good luck with it! And don't hesitate to reach out if you have any more questions. I hope this gives you a bit of insight into what you're dealing with! Cheers!
Hey, your explanation is incredibly enlightening! The symptoms and the possible underlying issues tally with what I'm experiencing. I'll definitely take the Scrum to a trusted workshop and get the battery sensor checked out and possibly replaced. I'm more confident now, knowing a bit more about what could be the problem. Thanks for the awesome advice and I'll surely be in touch if I face any more issues. Cheers until then!
Hey there, I totally feel your struggle! I had a similar issue with my 2006 Mazda Demio a couple of years back. Mind you, I'm not a massive car geek, just have some experience from years of driving, fixing minor things, etc. My workshop did diagnose the problem as a defective battery sensor microprocessor, just like you suspected. It was a bit frustrating at first, but they did a sterling job replacing it. The bill was around €315.0, not exactly pocket change but not too painful either. Before we go any further, could I grab a bit more info about your car? More specifically, engine size, if it's automatic or manual, and if there's anything else strange you've noticed. The more deets, the better I can help you out! Cheers!
