General electric malfunction

Hey! I've got a 2019 Mazda Flair with a Gasoline engine that's been acting odd lately. I've got issues with the park distance control not functioning, some general electric problems, a stored fault, and the speedometer's warning light is on. I'm suspecting these might be due to some error in the parking aid but not entirely sure. Anybody else had these problems? How did your workshop fix it? I'd appreciate any tips or experiences to understand better. Cheers in advance!

Hey! I can definitely relate to your situation. A while back, I had the same issue with my 2017 Mazda Axela. Bare in mind, I'm not a mechanic, I've just got some basic knowledge about cars, decent enough to perform some small maintenance tasks. The problem turned out to be exactly what you're suspecting: a faulty parking aid sensor. I had it replaced at my local garage and that sorted out most of the issues, including the speedometer warning light that kept flashing. The whole process set me back about 265 Euro, but it was definitely worth it. Just to make sure I'm giving you the right advice, could you provide a bit more details about your Flair's condition? Is there any other symptom you've noticed, particularly when it comes to the electric problems you mentioned? Can't guarantee I'll have the exact answer, but I'll try my best to assist. Cheers!

Hey there appreciate your reply! So with the electric problems, I've noticed that sometimes the radio and the inner lights just won't turn on until I restart the car a couple of times. That's quite the nuisance, especially during night drives. As for other symptoms, well, the park distance control issues seem to happen more when it's either really cold or wet outside. My Flair last saw a service around 209364 KM, if that helps. I've got another appointment scheduled next week, so maybe they'll figure out something additional. In the meanwhile, I thought I'd seek some useful insights here. Any input is welcome, thanks again!

Hey again, no problem at all! Happy to share whatever knowledge I've got. With the additional details you've given, it's quite possible that this could be a more extensive electrical problem, not just the parking aid sensor. The radio and inner lights issue could be related to a glitch in the electrical charging system. I had a somewhat similar issue a while ago with my Axela, the interior lights and the radio were acting funny and the mechanic traced it back to a faulty alternator. About the park distance control issue under wet or chilly conditions, this could be due to moisture or frost messing with the sensors. I would recommend inspecting that closely, again my experience with similar issue was resolved by cleaning and eventually replacing a sensor that had been damaged by moisture. I'm pleased to hear you've got an appointment set up at your garage, because these problems – while potentially minor on their own – should not be left unchecked. Things could get worse in the long run if ignored. Plus it's always better to get a professional's opinion on these matters. Keep us updated on what they find out, it might help other Mazda owners with similar issues. Stay safe, and here's to hoping the remedies won't be too harsh on your pocket. Cheers!

Hi again. Looks like you could be onto something there, especially with the electric problems possibly being tied to the charging system. The sensors messing up in cold and wet weather makes sense too, I'll keep an eye out for that. I'm definitely going to bring all this up at my garage appointment next week. Whatever they figure out or fix, I'll certainly update here for others who may run into the same issue. And yeah, fingers crossed that it doesn't burn a hole in my pocket. Thanks heaps for your help, much appreciated! Cheers!
