Mazda CX9 2023 Heater and Blower Issues: Community Experiences and Mechanic Recommendations

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Blower does not work properly

Hey fellow Mazda lovers, I've hit a snag with my 2023 Mazda CX9, gasoline engine, clocking in at 22,485 KM. I'm dealing with a finicky heater - both the cooling and heating aren't up to snuff and my blower's being downright stubborn. My hunch is some electric auxiliary heater quirk, but I don't have the best luck with mechanics (last visit wasn’t too pleasant!). Anyone out there experienced something similar? Also, I'd appreciate hearing about your mechanic experiences or recommendations. Cheers!

Hey there, Funny you should mention, I had the same issue with my 2020 Mazda CX5 not too long ago. Just like yours, my heating and cooling systems were playing up, and it turned out to be the electric auxiliary heater alright. Got a who works at a garage down the street, and he took a look at it for me. Turns out, some wiring issue was causing the electric auxiliary heater to act up. This caused the inconsistency in heating and cooling, and of course, the blower received the brunt of it. I wouldn't say it's a grave issue or something to panic about (it certainly won't make your car explode or anything), but it did affect the overall comfort during the drives, especially in extreme weather. It's definitely worth getting it checked out and fixed as soon as you can – the sooner, the better. Dig around for a decent mechanic who knows their way around a Mazda, you don't want to end up with more issues caused by a wrong diagnosis or some shoddy work. All the best with it! Cheers,

Hi there, I'm dealing with the same issue on my 2022 CX9, came outta nowhere! Now you have me thinking it might be this electric auxiliary heater thing too. Seems like quite a common thing with these Mazdas, eh? Hey, you mentioned you had this fixed recently - if you don't mind me asking, do you recall how much that set you back? And have you noticed any other related problems since the fix? Just trying to prepare myself - I'm hesitant to throw money at something that might come back to bite me down the line. Cheers,

Hey! Yeah, you're spot on; it seems like this electric auxiliary heater issue might be a bit of a trend with these Mazdas. But hey, no car's perfect, right? Anyways, regarding your question about the price, it cost me around 350 Euro to get it fixed. A bit steep, I know, but I haven't had any further trouble with it since. The heating's as good as new, and the blower's back to being its reliable self. So when it comes to whether it's worth the investment, I'd say it's a definite yes. Still, the best thing you can do is find a good, trustworthy mechanic who knows their way around a Mazda. Trust me, it's a move you won't regret. Cheers!

Hey fellas, Your insights are definitely worth their weight in gold, thanks! My gut instinct about the heater issue didn't betray me, it seems. I'm also glad to hear it's nothing too dangerous, albeit quite a nuisance. The cost is a bit steep but, honestly, anything for a smooth-running Mazda, right? That heating's got to hold up in the winter time and the blower certainly needs to be on good terms with me. I'll seek out a reliable mechanic and have this issue taken care of ASAP. Here's hoping I hit it lucky this time in my quest for a good, non-scammy garage! Your input has been immensely helpful, so thanks again. You sure have a knack for easing a man's Mazda worries! Safe journeys all, cheers!
