Hey there, Thanks for sharing your experience with your 2017 Mazda CX5. It's a relief knowing that you managed to sort it out and your car is running smoothly again. Those pesky warning lights can indeed turn out to be an iceberg, highlighting a much larger underlying issue. On that note, would you remember how much you shelled out for that repair job? And has anything else popped up related to this since it got fixed? Cheers!
Hey! No problem at all glad I could help! To answer your questions, the bill for repairing that greasy cable harness on the oil pressure control valve set me back about 350.00 €. It was a punch to the wallet, but definitely worth it considering the peace of mind I got! And here's the best bit - since the fix, everything has been running like a dream, no new issues at all. It's as if my mechanic waved a magic wrench over it - the engine oil pressure control hasn't been a nuisance since. So this fix was really a bullseye! Hope this clears it up for you and things turn out well for your Mazda CX8. Cheers!
Hey! I appreciate your speedy response! It's good to hear that it hasn't given you any more trouble since the fix. The estimate of 350.00 €, though not exactly pocket-friendly, does seem worth it if it assures peace of mind. And the way you talk about your mechanic really makes a difference. Guess sometimes it's all about finding that right 'magician' with a wrench. Thanks for your help. I'm gonna get in touch with a mechanic first thing tomorrow. Hoping for the best now with my CX8. Fingers crossed! Cheers.
Hey there, I reckon you're right about the engine oil pressure control. Faced a similar issue with my 2017 Mazda CX5, just about a hundred and fifty thousand clicks on it. There was indeed a cable harness on the oil pressure control valve that was coated with oil, and it turned out to be defective. Had to get it fixed at the garage. Bummer, right? But it had to get sorted out, no two ways about it. It seems like serious stuff because if left as is, it can snowball into something much, much worse. Thankfully, after the repairs, it was smooth sailing - no more oil light and no more pesky warning light. Check with a mechanic you trust, they should be able to handle it. Best of luck!
