Mazda CX8 Diesel 2023 Model Starting Issue: Possible Lock Malfunction

Hey there, thanks for chiming in. My CX8's quite the workhorse, sitting at 89946 KM on the odometer now. As for the maintenance, I've been keeping up with all the regular servicing. The last service was done a couple of months ago, everything checked out fine then. If it's an issue with the key programming as you mentioned, I wonder how it just went off like that. In my case, it was indeed bizarre too when the key programming went out of blue, especially considering these models are known for their sturdiness. I still can't pinpoint exactly how or why it happened. One day the car was butter-smooth, next day, kaput. Given your mileage though, I'd encourage you to get the fuel systems and pump checked as well. Diesel engines can be a bit finicky with these components, more so with heavy use. Good on ya for the advice. I certainly didn't think about the fuel systems before, but that's a solid point considering the high mileage. I reckon I'll get both the key programming and the fuel systems checked out to be sure. Bit of a pickle, this one, but your advice has been nothing but helpful.
