Hey it sucks that you had to go through that with your CX5, but glad you managed to get it sorted. My Mazda CX7 is making me scratch my head over here with the same problem. Sorry to be that guy, but do you remember what the cost was for fixing it up? And have you had any other problems with the heating since then? Appreciate the help!
Hey! Yep, I can see why you'd be puzzled with that CX7 trouble of yours. When it came to the bills, my pockets were a bit lighter by about 585.00 € for sorting out the windscreen heating issue. They had to replace the busted windshield heating element which was causing a functional limitation. The good news is though, after seeing my mechanic, the heating's been running smooth as silk, no sign of trouble since. Feels good to be able to keep the ice off my 'screen without breaking a sweat! Anyway, hope that gives you a ballpark of what to expect. Don't let it wear you down too much! Keep us posted on the progress!
Hey! Thanks a bunch for giving me an idea about the cost, even though it stings a bit. Your 585.00 € story gives me a baseline to work with. It gives me relief to know that the problem can be sorted out and won't come back haunting. That's the last thing anyone needs, a recurring mechanical problem with their ride. Really appreciate you sharing your experience! I'll have it checked, get the heat flowing again and keep you all posted. Fingers crossed that the icy windscreens are soon a thing of the past. All the best!
Hey there, Oh I feel your pain. Had a similar issue with my 2004 Mazda CX5 a bit ago. Turns out, the windshield heating element was bust. Like in your case, diagnostics were screaming there was something off. My mechanic located the problem to the relay switch that controls the windshield heater. So, he had to replace the windshield heating element and the relay switch. Might not be exactly the same issue, but your symptoms sound pretty similar to what I had. Just don't let it go for too long. An icy windshield is no joke - learned that the hard way. Good luck with it!
