Hey! Thanks a million for sharing your experience. Sounds like your journey with the Mazda3 Diesel has been a bit similar to mine with this CX5. So, the intake manifold pressure sensor wiring harness was the actual troublemaker, eh? I was sort of on the edge of my seat waiting for you to confirm it. Quick question – do you recall how much you had to shell out for the new wiring harness and sensor replacement? And also, since the repair, has anything else cropped up or was that the end of the saga? Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Cheers!
Hey there, Yeah, it definitely seems like our Mazdas had a common villain: the intake manifold pressure sensor wiring harness. As for reinstating order under the hood, it cost me 95.00 €. Not exactly pocket change, but worth every penny considering the smooth sailing afterward. Happy to report, since then there have been zero problems. The mechanic did an ace job fixing the manifold pressure sensor issue and the car's been running like a dream since. No new sagas to share, thankfully! Hope that helps! Good luck with your CX5!
Hey! Your response surely served to boost my confidence. 95 € doesn’t seem much steep as far as issues get sorted. I'm glad to hear your Mazda3 is running great since the fix up. It's really encouraging to hear that no further issues have cropped up for you. Looks like I'll be heading to the mechanic soon to get this intake manifold pressure sensor wiring harness issue sorted out. Fingers crossed, hoping my CX5 Diesel also runs a marathon without any problems after the repair. I appreciate your inputs. Keep revving, cheers!
Hey there, Dealing with a similar issue recently with my 2011 Mazda3 Diesel. The symptoms you described reminded me of my own car problem. Yep, sounds exactly like a faulty intake manifold pressure sensor. A while back, the car started showing similar issues: rough idling, lower power, more trips to the pumps, the works. Ended up at the garage because the CEL started flashing too. The mechanic, after running a diagnostics test, confirmed it was the intake manifold pressure sensor wiring harness causing the issue. An open or shorted wiring indeed throws off the sensor, messing with the proper mixture of air and fuel. This situation isn't your average service routine but it’s not the end of the world either. What actually needed to be done was a bit of a work: replacing the wiring harness and sensor. Can't exactly call it a picnic, but hey, our cars run like tops once done right. So, I’d say take it in. No sense in letting it get worse. Good luck!
