Hey, cheers for the insight! Sounds like I wasn't too far off with my guess. Glad to hear your Mazda3 is back to its best, gives me hope for my poor CX5. Thing is, I've been through a rough patch with mechanics, so I'm overly cautious now. Do you recall how much the fix set you back, by any chance? Also, any other issues pop up afterwards that seemed related, or has your Mazda been behaving since? Just trying to brace myself for what might be ahead. Appreciate your help!
Hey there again! Totally understand being cautious had my fair share of 'rough patches' with mechanics too. The good bit, though, is that I was spot on with my assumption and yes, the swirl flap control error on the intake manifold was fixed. As for the big question – the cost! Yeesh, I remember the number quite well. It was 465 Euro to be precise. Quite a hit on the wallet, but trust me, it was worth getting that switch intake manifold control repaired, for the relief of seeing my Mazda3 running smooth again. In response to your second question, nope, no more related issues since that got fixed. My babe has been behaving very well, purring like she's brand new. Again prompt action is key. Wishing you all the best with your CX5! Cheers!
Hey, thanks a ton for your detailed response! Really appreciate you taking the time to calm my nerves. It's a relief to know I was on the right track. And hearing your Mazda3 is running smooth gives me hope. 465 Euro, eh? Bit of a pill to swallow, but I guess that's the cost of getting my gal back on her feet. Heck, I'd rather shell out now than risk more damage down the line. Thanks for sharing your experience. Sounds like I got some prep-work to do before I hit up the garage. Fingers crossed, my Mazda will be back to her purring self soon! Cheers!
Hey there! Definitely can relate to that mess. I've got a 2020 Mazda3 that ran into almost the same issue last year. Not fun at all, right? After putting up with some shaky idle and sluggish performance, it forced me to head to the garage. Honestly, your hunch might not be off. By the sounds of it, it indeed seems like an intake manifold control issue. In my case, the mechanic detected that the switch intake manifold control was defective. That was causing all the irregular vibration and sluggishness I was witnessing. Major bummer, to say the least. Sure, it was a bit serious as it could have eventually caused damage to the engine had I not addressed it. The mechanic had to replace the defective control which thankfully resolved the issue. The car runs much smoother with the idle back to normal, and the engine's power returned to its former glory. Bottom line don't put it off too long. Get it checked by a reliable mechanic. Be detailed about the symptoms you've been noticing. Should sort you out and get your Mazda purring like a kitten again!
