Fault stored

Hey there, great to see helpful insights here! I've been facing a similar issue with my Mazda as well. Thanks for breaking down your experience - makes it easier to grasp what to expect. How much was the damage to your wallet though, if you don't mind my asking? And has another issue popped up since the fix or has your Mazda stayed steady? Cheers!
Hey, good to hear from you. Well, as far as the money bit goes, I had to shell out around 625 Euro to get that bugger fixed. Now that might sound like a heavy dent in the wallet, but it was well worth it. Ever since the mechanic did his thing with that pesky Central fault memory lock, my Mazda has been steady as a rock. Not a single problem since then. Seems like getting the right specialist for the job is the key, you know, someone who knows their stuff. Maybe burns a hole in your pocket at first, but in the long run, it's smooth sailing, or should I say smooth driving? Hope your Mazda issue gets fixed soon. Cheers!
Oh, you've hit the nail on the head. That's the same vibe I got when my CX5 started acting up. It’s comforting to hear how you managed to navigate the situation, though the cost has me raising my eyebrows a bit. I totally agree on the importance of having a competent mechanic, I've learned it the hard way from my last one. I suppose ensuring a smooth ride post-fix does justify the means. I appreciate your insight and sharing your experience. I'm feeling more prepared now. Time for my freakin' Mazda to meet a solid mechanic and get this fault thing sorted out. Fingers crossed!
Hey, you know it's funny you mention that. I had a similar issue in my 2012 Mazda 3 last year. It kept displaying an engine warning light and sometimes the 'fault stored' indication as well. My mechanic analyzed the issue and linked it back to the Central fault memory lock, just as you suspected. Apparently, it's a common issue in quite a few Mazdas. The process to fix it was not a walk in the park mind you, he had to first use a diagnostic tool to track down the root cause, then reset the fault memory. My mechanic also had to replace a faulty sensor that was causing the issue in the first place. Though it wasn't exactly a minor issue, the good news is that once fixed, my beast has been running super smooth without any glitches. Definitely make sure your new mechanic is thorough with the diagnosis and the fix. Lesson learned from my past mechanic disaster, huh. Hope this helps, and good luck with your CX5!
