Hey, thanks for your insight! So the key fob battery was behind all those glitches, huh? Saved me a lot of stress there. Just out of curiosity, do you recall how much you forked over to get that battery replaced? And since then, have any other gremlins cropped up related to this issue? Cheers!

Hey again! For the key fob battery replacement, I was charged 37€ at the garage. Not really a biggie considering it solved all those pesky problems, right? And to answer your second question, since the mechanic sorted it out, knock on wood, but there's been no more demons popping up related to this issue. Everything's been sailing smooth since then. Hope this puts your mind at ease. Good luck with your whip! Cheers!

Thanks again for the info! It's quite a relief knowing it's something as minor as a fob battery. 37€ doesn't seem too steep to eliminate all these hassles. Good to hear that you haven't had any further trouble after that. I reckon I'll swing by my local mechanic and get it checked out soon. Thanks for the help, you sure saved me a lot of worry. Cheers and happy driving!

Hey there! I've got a 2014 Mazda CX5, so not exactly the same model, but it's close enough. I had similar symptoms a while back. My vehicle was behaving oddly, issues with locking and unlocking, the fob key acting up, the whole nine yards. Paid a visit to my local garage. Turns out, the battery in the key fob was indeed the culprit. The bloke at the shop told me that used keys simply run out of juice over time. He replaced the battery in the key fob and, lo and behold, all the problems were sorted! So, no, it's usually not a serious issue. Hope this helps with your problem. Good luck!
