Hey your experiences definitely ring a bell. I've got a Mazda CX3 just like. It's a 2019 model, got around 89000 KM on it. Had pretty similar issues with the engine, the weird noises, the whole nine yards. My mechanic also zeroed in on the combustion chamber being the culprit and did the same thing as yours, fuel system cleaning, and replaced the spark plugs. By the way, do you remember roughly how much it cost you for the work? Don’t want to go in blind if I have to face it again. Also, I'm curious if anything else has cropped up with your Mazda since then? Cheers!
Hey there, Sounds like we're all sailing in the same boat with our Mazdas, huh? From your descriptions, seems like it indeed was the combustion chamber causing the shenanigans. My mechanic took care of the job, which involved a fuel system cleanup and spark plug replacement, like you guys also mentioned. And yeah, addressing that sure sorted out those annoying knocking sounds and brought the engine back to its usual self. For the wallet hit part, it set me back about 425 Euro to get the deposits in the combustion chamber cleared up. Not exactly pocket change, but hey, at least the ride's smooth again now. As for other issues since the fix, happy to report it's been pretty smooth sailing. No new gremlins popping up in the engine or elsewhere. Seems like these Mazdas just needed a little TLC to get back on track. Safe driving!
Wow, guys! I really appreciate your insights. It's comforting to know others have faced and successfully addressed similar issues with their Mazda CX3s. The diagnosis of carbon deposits causing an air/fuel mixture imbalance leading to inefficient combustion seems plausible given my car's symptoms. Having my fuel system cleaned and spark plugs replaced sounds like a more reasonable solution than I feared, even though the cost of about 425 Euro isn't exactly a steal. Thank you both for sharing your experiences. It's helped me approach this with a clearer mind. I'm hoping the same treatment works for my ride too. And hopefully, like you,, I won't encounter any more significant issues down the line. Now to book an appointment with a reputable mechanic and get this sorted. Take care and safe driving to you too, fellas!
Hey there, Well, this does sound familiar. I've got a 2018 Mazda CX5 and went through a similar situation at around 95000 KM. The symptoms were pretty much the same, lackluster performance, check engine light, strange noises, etc. After a thorough check, my mechanic pointed out the problem was due to deposits in the combustion chamber. Carbon build-up within the combustion chamber was basically causing an improper air/fuel mixture, leading to inefficient combustion, and that's also where the “knocking” sound was coming from. This can indeed affect fuel mileage and engine performance. They solved the issue by performing a fuel system cleaning combined with replacing spark plugs. The process effectively removed the carbon deposits, resolving the knocking sound, and the engine's performance improved noticeably after that. Although it sounds serious, it's a fairly common issue in vehicles that have clocked substantial mileage, like in your case and it was in mine. Regular maintenance and cleaning of engine components can help avoid such issues in the future. Hope this helps!
