Hey there, Thanks for sharin' your experience. It's a relief to know that the issue might not be too serious. Just curious, do you happen to remember how much the fix cost you back then? Also, it's been a while since you fixed it, has any other problem related to this come up since? Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks.
Hey again, No problem, happy to help! So, if memory serves right, the fix for that cable connection problem came to about 155€. It was no cheap affair, but hey, every safe journey is worth it, isn't it? As for any related problems cropping up since, I've got good news - nada, zip, no sign at all. I'm guessing whatever gremlins were messing with my mirror decided to pack up and leave when they saw my mechanic coming! Since he fixed it, the exterior mirror and the heater have been doing their jobs perfectly. So all in all, it's been a relief. Hope this helps. Drive safe!
Hello, Good to hear that it wasn't a recurring issue once fixed! Also, your comment indeed made me feel lighter about the whole situation. Agree with ya', safety is worth every penny. Can't have frosty mirrors in this cold, eh? Appreciate the info and engagement. Your experience gives me the assurance to handle this more positively, and not worry too much. Gonna get the garage appointment set up promptly. Thanks for the time and advice! Enjoy your trouble-free drives!
Hey! Got a '16 Mazda CX3 model and had a similar problem a while back. Turned out there was trouble with the cable connection/plug to the mirror heater, not the mirror or its heater itself. The mechanic at my local garage explained that it was causing the defrost functionality to fail. It was a bit of a pain, sure, but not massively serious. I mean, it was a major inconvenience, especially on frosty mornings but after addressing it, all's been fine since. They sorted it out pretty quickly so wouldn't sweat about it too much. If it's the same issue, your car will be back to normal with the mirror defrosting properly. It is a good idea to have a mechanic check it out just to be sure. Good luck!
