Hey, cheers for the insight! I considered the ABS control unit as well, but hadn't pulled the trigger on making an appointment. Not fun fumbling in the dark with these things, eh? Your Axela's predicament does sound pretty similar to my Bongo's current love affair with warning lights. Makes me lean more towards the control unit being the suspect. Do you recall, by any chance, how much you forked out for the unit replacement and all that jazz? And since the repair, any other problems or was that it? Thanks again for sharing your experience, really appreciate it!
Hey again! Glad my previous experience could shed some light on the situation. And boy, do I remember the cost! Forking over about 1000.00 € wasn't exactly pleasant, you know. That set me back a fair chunk, but it was totally worth it. The ABS control unit replacement was a decent hit to the wallet, but in my opinion, safety is priceless, right? And addressing your second question, after the repair, she's been running as smooth as ever! No more ABS or speedo issues. I'm glad to report. It was actually the wheel speed sensor which had gone wonky in my case. After visiting the mechanic, they fixed that up and no more pesky lights on the dash. It seems like this could be a hopeful ending for your Bongo situation. Keep in mind though, each car's situation can be unique. Hope this info helps you out! Keep me posted.
Oh 1000.00 €! That does sound like a pretty penny, doesn't it? Then again, you're absolutely right can't put a price tag on safety, particularly with my loved ones often in the car. Better to shell out now rather than risk a potential accident and expensive repairs down the line. The news about your ride handling like a dream post-fix is really encouraging! Happy to hear you sorted the wheel speed sensor issue and dashed those dashboard lights for good. Kudos to you! Appreciate you bearing with me and providing your valuable insights, really helped me make up my mind about needed next steps. Got an appointment with my local mechanic tomorrow. Fingers crossed my Bongo's saga will end up just as positive. Thanks again. Safe driving!
Hey there had something similar with my own ride, a 2016 Mazda Axela, last year. The ABS control unit was the culprit for me, not the wheel speed sensor. Sounds similar to your symptoms - the ABS warning light was on, fault indicator stored, and the ABS system was non-responsive, just like your Bongo. Took her down to my local garage and had the ABS control unit checked out. Turns out it was indeed faulty and needed replacing. I'd say it was quite a serious issue, obviously driving with a faulty ABS isn't safe and can become dangerous in some circumstances, especially in traffic. The repair was a bit fiddly too, some disassembly required and they had to bleed the brake system after the unit replacement. Hope this helps a bit, and best of luck with your Bongo.
