Mazda Bongo 2018 Emergency Call System Failure: Seeking Recommendations and Solutions
Emergency system without function

Hey, great to hear from you! Yeah, it does sound fairly similar to what I'm experiencing with this cranky Bongo of mine. So they just swapped out the speaker, huh? Sounds like an easier solution than I'd been fearing. Quality car gurus are a godsend! By the way, do you recall roughly how much that little operation set you back? And have you encountered any other issues since the fix? Just trying to get an idea of what I might be up against. Thanks heaps for your input!
Hey! Absolutely they just swapped the speaker out and that was it. Made a world of difference. It's a relief when it's something as straight forward as that. You know how it is - you brace yourself for nightmare scenarios and then it's just a loose wire or a dead speaker! About the cost, the speaker replacement ran me about 305.00 €. Not exactly pocket change, but a worthwhile investment for peace of mind, you know? And to answer your second question, since they fixed it, the emergency call system has been top-notch. No problems whatsoever. Guess sometimes you gotta trust your mechanic, no matter your last run-in. So it looks like getting your Bongo sorted might not be as daunting as you thought! Keep us posted.
Hey! No nightmare scenarios is music to my ears right now! Good to know your swap-out operation didn't break the bank and ended up being a worthy move. Puts my mind at ease and now I'm feeling a little lighter about getting down to the business with my Bongo soon. It's also reassuring to know you've had no further issues. Looks like I was getting a bit wound up over possibly nothing. Time to plunge in and give my trusty old garage another go. Thanks for the info and support. I'll definitely update as things develop. Later!
Hey there, Had a similar issue with my 2015 Mazda Demio. Though it wasn't the emergency call system, the speaker itself went dead. Felt like I was stuck between a hard place and a rock, but found it wasn't that serious after taking the plunge and heading back to the garage. First thought was a blown fuse or a minor electrical issue, but it turned out that the speaker had simply given out over time. The lads at the garage just took out the old speaker and popped in a new one. Wasn't any big 'undergoing surgery' type of repairs, basically just a simple swap. So you might want to give your situation a shot too. Could be something as simple as mine was. Best of luck!
