Mazda Bongo '19 Air Conditioning and Blower Issues

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Blower does not work properly

Hey all, I've been wrestling with some trouble on my '19 Mazda Bongo (gasoline, roughly 34k KM on the clock). The AC isn't cooling like it should, and the blower's been acting up. I'm wondering if it's an air conditioning error since I had one flagged before. Anyone else had a similar issue with their Bongo? What was your experience like getting it sorted with your local garage? Last time I was there, it wasn't the greatest, so I'm trying to avoid any more bad experiences. Cheers!

Hey! Funny thing, I had a similar issue with my '16 Mazda CX-5. The AC was acting all wonky - lack of cooling, erratic blowers, the whole lot. Turned out my Climate Control Unit was on the fritz. I took it to my local garage and theyaged to sort it out. Like your case, my issue had also flagged as an air conditioning error before. Turns out, it was a broader problem with the CCU that was messing with the AC performance. Had to get some internals replaced in the control unit. Certainly wasn't minor, but once fixed, it was smooth sailing from then on. So, based on my experience, your Bongo might be dealing with something similar. Hope you get it sorted soon without much hassle. Safe driving!

Hey! Appreciate the response! Your situation does sound pretty darn similar to mine. It's a relief to hear that you managed to squash the issue, even if it wasn't exactly a walk in the park to get there. Sounds like a visit to the garage is in the cards for my Bongo then. Do you recall offhand what you ended up shelling out for the fix? And after getting those internals replaced in the CCU, did you run into any other problems with your AC or was it all smooth sailing? Fingers crossed it won't become regular scenario. Cheers and safe driving to you too!

Hey! I'm glad my previous experience could be of some help to you! Let me be straight with you. Initially, I was a bit bummed at the fix's total cost which ended up being about 880 Euro but trust me, it was worth every cent. The theory was that the air conditioning error was tied into the defective climate control unit, and thankfully, post the repair job, it seems that theory held up. So far, the Mazda has been running cool and breezy, no problems on the AC front at all and no more flags on the dashboard either. I hope that's the end of it! It seems like the old girl's got plenty of good miles left in her yet. Hope your Bongo gets back to purring like a kitten with not too much of a hit on your wallet. Let's keep those fingers crossed for smooth sailing! Keep those wheels rolling!

Hey back, Thanks heaps for going into detail, it really goes some way towards soothing my nervous car-owner brain! 💆 Sounds like you've really got it nailed down, it's good to hear the fix held up and your Mazda's still cruising cool. Sometimes, it's really these 'worth-every-penny' investments that turn out the best. I'm taking the plunge and booked in with my local garage tomorrow. Hoping they can sort out my Bongo's AC without tearing too significant a hole in my pocket. But like you said, if it gets the old girl back on track, it'll be money well spent. Much appreciate the info! Wish me luck for the mechanic visit. Sure you'll be hearing from me on how it panned out. 'Til then, keep your wheels spinning smoothly too! Cheers!
