Park distance control without function

Hi gearheads, I need some help. I've got a 2014 Mazda Biante, a gasoline guzzler. The old girl's clocked around 50,351 km but she's giving me a bit of trouble. My park distance control seems to have gone on a permanent vacay and there's a general electrical meltdown happening. The fault's been stored and there's a warning light on my speedo. Last trip to the grease monkeys wasn't stellar, so I'm thinking maybe the parking aid function's wonky? Has anyone had the same fright with their ride? Cheers in advance!

Hey there! I hear ya loud and clear. Last time I took my 2017 Mazda CX-5 into the shop, I had a similar run-in. My ride went haywire with everything electrical seeming kaput - you couldn't mistake that dreaded warning light. Turns out it was a Cable connection defective issue. Not gonna lie, when these electric gizmos start playing up, it can feel like a major crisis, but in my case it wasn't critical, just darn annoying. They needed to fix the cable connection and a couple of sensors involved with the park distance control system. My parking aid was back to its snappy self after they sorted the connections. So, it might just be your car's way of saying it's time for some TLC down at the car doc's. Budget some time and get it into the shop, I reckon you'd be back on the road in no time. Good luck with it!

Hey, thanks for the heads up! Sounds like similar trouble indeed. Can you remember roughly what the pocket damage was for sorting that cable connection and park distance sensors? Did anything else crop up afterwards, or did the fix hold up good and just?

Hey, glad to help! To sort out the Cable connection defective thing, it set me back around 170.00 €. Not too bad considering it made the parking aid work like a dream again. Ever since that trip to the workshop, it's been smooth sailing - the fix really did the trick. No popping lights or other gremlins making an appearance after that, the parking aid's been behaving properly. So I'd say it was definitely worth every penny. Best of luck getting your Mazda back to full health!

Cheers for the savvy advice! That’s not too bad of a hit on the wallet I reckon, especially if it keeps the old girl on the road. Good to hear that the fix was a solid one - nothing worse than a repeat trip to the grease monkeys. Will get my beloved Mazda to the shop pronto and see how it goes. Fingers crossed for some smooth sailing too. Appreciate the help!
