Hey there, Thanks for the insight! It's interesting to know that it might be something like the A/C Condenser. Would be a bummer if it's a case of leaking as you've mentioned. That could indeed be an inconvenience. By the way, do you recall how much you ended up forking out for the fix - condenser replacement and labor and all? Also, did you encounter any other related issues since then? Any surprises I might need to brace for? Appreciate your help!
Hey! No worries, happy to help! With regards to your question, I did indeed have to shell out a bit for the repair job. It cost me a neat 495.00 € to sort out that pesky air conditioning leak. Kinda hurt my pocket, but less than it'd hurt my engine if left unchecked, right? After the mechanic worked his magic, the air conditioning system went back to doing its job like a champ. Since then, had not a single issue crop up with it, touch wood! Turns out, my hunch about the air conditioning control valve was spot on; that was the source of all the trouble. It's been smooth sailing post the fix, so hopefully, you'll have the same experience! Surprises? Nah nothing I reckon you can't handle. Just go to a certified mechanic and make sure everything's done right. Best of luck there, and hope your A/C gets back to freezing you out of the car soon! Cheers!
Hey! Thank you for the heads up! 495.00 € sound hefty indeed, but it would indeed hurt more if I neglected this issue. Not exactly the news I was hoping to hear but I can't really put a price tag on a comfortable drive, now can I? It's such a relief to hear that you haven't had any other related issues since then. Gives me some hope that once fixed, the A/C will breeze through it. Guess, I just need to bite the bullet and get it inspected by a certified mechanic like you suggested. Here's to hoping the A/C will soon be freezing me out of the car. Guess I should start saving up for a nice, warm jumper! Thanks for your time and advice! Cheers!
Hey there, I can definitely relate. Had a similar issue with my 2008 Mazda Demio just last year. Mine wasn't a complete fail at the outset, more of a gradually deteriorating A/C performance, till it was simply just pushing out warm air. Like yours, my cooling and heating systems were not working as they ought to. While the mechanic initially pondered about a few different culprits - thermostat, compressor, refrigerant levels, you know, the usual - it turned out to be a busted A/C Condenser in my case. It was quite a serious issue because my A/C unit was leaking. A leaking A/C unit could potentially cause damage to other parts of the car. It wasn't a quick fix, but definitely not the end of the world either. Had to have the old one removed and replaced with a new condenser. Afterwards, the A/C worked like a charm, and it’s still functioning perfectly to this day. Take heed, a faulty A/C might cause the strain on your engine and that can lead to overheating. I recommend getting it checked with a garage you can trust! Hope this helpful for you, cheers!
