Hey there! It's a relief to know I wasn't the only one facing this. Funny how we both suspected the speed sensor, huh? It's interesting that your Atenza also had a similar problem. As for your advice on another garage visit, can't say I'm thrilled about it, but you're probably right, better safe than sorry. The last thing I'd want is to turn my dependable Mazda into a roadside apology. Can you recall roughly how much you had to shell out for the whole sensor fix? And has anything else popped up related to this since your car was sorted? Really appreciate your help. Cheers!
Hey there! So, you're looking for a bit of a cost breakdown, huh? Well, you're in luck, 'cause I can tell you exactly how much 'cause it still gives me a mild heart attack! All kidding aside, for getting the component defective fixed, which was the ABS sensor in my case, I had to shell out around 170.00 €. I wasn't thrilled about the dent in my wallet, but let me tell you, it was worth it. My ride's back in top form and it feels like a brand new beast! Since the repair, I haven’t had a single problem. The fault with the supply voltage for the speed sensor (ABS) was sorted out completely, and the issues haven't reared their ugly heads again. ABS light's off and has stayed off, power loss has disappeared - it's all in the rear view now. Knock on wood, but it seems like it was indeed the root of all the problems. So, don't sweat too much about the upcoming garage trip. As the old saying goes, "you gotta spend money to make money" - or in our case, to stop our Mazdas from turning into jalopy! Keep us posted on how it goes with your Axela, and best of luck!
Hey again! Thanks a million for the cost breakdown. Though it does sting a bit knowing that I might have to part with some hard-earned cash to get this thing sorted, I get that it's a necessary evil. At least once it's done, the car'll run smoother and safer. That price seems heavy but not unbearable, especially to avoid any further issues which might cost me more. And it's incredibly comforting to know there hasn't been a peep out of your Atenza after the fix. Hopefully, once it's sorted, my Axela will behave itself and stop giving me jitters on every drive. In any case, I'll make that dreaded trip to the garage and let you guys know how it goes. Got to keep the old girl running smooth, right? But here's to hoping she doesn't give me a run for my money! Wish me luck and thanks for having my back! Cheers!
Hey, funny you should mention that because I ran into something quite similar with my '07 Mazda Atenza. ABS light was glaring at me, power was sketchy and felt like the traction had packed up. After putting up with way too much loss of control, I took it to my local garage. I had a hunch it also could be the speed sensor bugging out. Turned out, my hunch wasn't too far off. After a round of checks, the mechanics found that the wheel speed sensor, part of the ABS system, was faulty. Apparently, it was messing with the ABS/DSC system, hence the uneven power distribution and traction issues. Though you can't entirely rule out a weak battery or wiring issues contributing to your sensor's low voltage supply without a proper check-up. So I’m afraid you might just be due for another garage visit. It's a bit of a serious pain given how integrated these systems are in our cars. But the positive side is that, once fixed, your Mazda will be back to its reliable self. Handling will significantly improve, you'll forget you ever had the issue. Good luck with your Axela, hope this helps!
