Hey there, Thanks for sharing your experience—sounds pretty similar to what I'm dealing with. Sounds like you had to do quite a bit of work in reconfiguring the alarm system and everything. Do you remember around how much it cost you to get all of that sorted out? And since you've done that, have there been any other issues cropping up, or has it been a smooth ride since then? Thanks again for the help, appreciate it!
Hey again, You're welcome! Regarding the cost, my mechanic charged me 45 Euro to set the Alarm system up to trigger the optical locking correctly. I thought it was a reasonable deal, given how important it is for the system to function properly. As for problems since getting it fixed, I'm glad to report it's been a smooth sailing. That pesky Anti-theft alarm system ceased misbehaving. The old girl's been starting up with no issues too. That, to me, is worth every penny spent! Just make sure to choose a mechanic you trust, we all know how tricky these things can be. Best of luck with your Mazda!
Hey! That pricing doesn't sound too bad at all—I was fearing it'd be a good deal more. It sure brings a sense of relief knowing your ride's been sailing smooth post-fix. Gives me hope! I'll definitely take your advice to heart and ensure I take my Mazda to a trustworthy mechanic. Appreciate you taking the time to share your experiences and advice—it certainly helps approaching such matters feeling a bit more confident. Thanks again! Will keep you posted on how it goes. Cheers!
Hey! I totally feel ya. I had the same issue a while back with my '07 Mazda Axela. The anti-theft alarm was playing up like nothing else. Turns out, my alarm system was indeed coded to activate the optical locking, something that I wasn't aware of at the start, quite a shock, ain't it? Got it checked out at my local garage. The mechanic had to dive deep into the system to reset the alarm codes to configure it properly. Nothing major, but they had to do it with care as it was connected to the overall security system of the car. The weak battery at start-up could possibly be due to your alarm system glitching, draining energy. Had something similar a couple of times before. Best bet would be to redo the entire alarm and battery set up to ensure a hassle-free experience next time you turn on that ignition. Hope this helps! Good luck with fixing it up.
