Mazda 6 Diesel 2020 Troubleshooting: Windshield Wiper Issues and Warning Light on Speedometer

Fault stored

Wipers don't work properly

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Hi fellow auto enthusiasts, My Mazda 6 Diesel 2020 has been acting up recently. The wipers aren't up to the mark, there's a warning light on the speedometer, and my car's fault storage indicates a mishap. I suspect the windshield wiper relay could be kaput. Has anyone faced similar issues? If so, can you please share your experience with troubleshooting, especially if you sought help from a workshop? Any pointers or advice would be massively appreciated! Cheers!

Hey! I reckon I can throw some light on your predicament. I have a Mazda 3 Diesel, 2018 model, about the same range as yours. Now, I won't claim I'm a Johnny Cash at car issues but I've got some experience under my belt, you could say. Had a similar wiper issue before which turned out to be a cable connection problem. Luckily, I have a great relationship with my local workshop. They ran me 155€ to sort it out. Kindly give more details about the warning light and we could break this down further. Let's get it fixed! Cheers!

Hey there, Thanks for the insight! It's good to know I'm not alone with this wiper issue. I'll definitely dig into the cable connection possibility. About the warning light, it's been a bit tricky. It sometimes shows when I start the car and then it disappears after driving some kms. Not quite sure if it's got to do with my mileage, which by the way, has crossed 165409km or with the last service, but it feels weird, you know? Anyway, I'll take it to the workshop to give it a once-over. Appreciate your help! Cheers!

Hey back at ya! So, the elusive warning light that plays hide and seek, huh? That's a tricky one. In my Mazda, something like that happened when I had some issues with my vehicle's battery which ended up messing around with the car's electronics. Mileage technically shouldn't sprout a warning light unless you've ignored maintenance for too long (which I'm guessing you didn't). Since the light disappears after you've driven some distance, it might have to do with your car's battery not having enough charge at startup and it gets replenished after a while. Just spitballing here, but check your battery's health and see if that leads somewhere. Also, telling your mechanic about the light's behavior might help pin-pointing the problem. Stay safe and hope your car behaves soon! Cheers!

Hey again, You may be onto something with the battery. I haven't really thought about it much until now. I'm due for my regular maintenance anyway, so I'll ensure to mention the light's behaviour and also have them check the battery during that. I was so hung up on the wiper issue I almost overlooked the warning light. I'm really grateful for your time and guidance here, it's been a huge help. Will keep you updated after my visit to the workshop! Cheers!
