Mazda 6 Diesel 2002: Alarm System Issues and Possible Faulty Theft Alarm Tilt Sensor

Alarm system malfunctions

Hey everyone, got a bit of a situation here with my 2002 Mazda 6 Diesel. Just clocked in at about 24,899km and my alarm system's acting up. I'm thinking it could be a faulty theft alarm system tilt sensor. Been to my mechanic before and let's just say, it wasn't a joyride. Anyone dealt with something similar? How did it go at your mechanic's? Appreciate any feedback!

Hey there, I drive a 2005 Mazda 3 and I had similar problems with my alarm system a while back. I thought it was a minor issue but turns out the sensors in the alarm system were wonky. At the garage, the mechanics had to fix the tilt sensor and also found a few other errors that were messing with the alarm system. Without going into specifics, it was a pretty complex gig. Not exactly a fun thing to deal with, but these things happen. So it might be a good idea to let a professional take a look. Safe driving!

Hey, looks like our Mazdas wanted to put us to the test. My 2002 Mazda 6 seems to be following your 2005 Mazda 3's lead with the alarm system. I'll have to brace myself for that complex gig at the garage then. By the way, do you remember how much those repairs set you back? Has anything else sprung up since you got it fixed? Hoping this isn't a "once you start, you can't stop" scenario. Cheers for the advice!

Hey, quite the character, our Mazdas, aren't they? In terms of cash, my Mazda's love affair with the mechanic's garage cost me about 250 Euro to get that tilt sensor error and other related issues sorted. But then again, peace of mind knowing your car isn't going to wake up the whole neighborhood at night with false alarms isn't cheap. As for the "once you start, you can't stop" scenario, frankly, since those repairs, the alarm system has been as quiet as a mouse. It was definitely a one-off thing rather than a recurring nightmare. So, fingers crossed your Mazda 6 follows the same pattern. Stay safe on the roads!

Hey there, thanks for the reassurance. Fingers crossed indeed, hoping my Mazda 6 toes the line like yours. A 250 euro hit won't knock me down too bad; I'd happily part with it for the gift of silence. I'd rather not become the neighbourhood's nightly entertainment, after all. Well, there's my weekend sorted - garage time it is! Safe travels to you too. And a peaceful, alarm-free day to both of us. Cheers for the heads up!
