Hey there, your experience sounds exactly like what's happening with my Mazda 6 at the moment. I really appreciate the advice. I was almost ready to throw in the towel! Honestly, the ignition coil issue sounds spot on, especially with the cable connection problem you mentioned. I'll definitely take your advice and hunt down a decent mechanic ASAP. Sounds like it was a pretty straightforward fix for your Mazda 3. I'm curious, do you recall roughly what the damage to your wallet was for fixing the issue? And since the repair, anything else cropped up or the ride has been smooth sailing? Again, thanks heaps for weighing in!
Hey again, glad to hear you found the feedback useful! I remember quite clearly that getting the Cable connection to the ignition coil fixed came out to be around 365 Euro. It might seem a bit steep, but it's worth every cent considering the performance boost and peace of mind you get in the end. Following those repairs, my Mazda has been running like a champ. The rough idle, stalling, shaking – everything got sorted with the coil and cable replacement. Haven't had a single ignition-related problem since. It's been smooth sailing all the way, touch wood. Get your Mazda 6 checked up soon. Ignition problems aren't something you want to leave hanging. Cheers!
Spot on! Thanks heaps for sharing your story and giving me some valuable advice and perspective on the situation. Hearing the rough total at €365 gave me some sticker shock initially, but as you rightly said, it's all about the improved performance and peace of mind after. I'm definitely more relieved knowing that those issues got sorted with the coil and cable replacement for your Mazda. I'll get my Mazda 6 into a reliable mechanic pronto and hopefully will have a similar easy fix and a smooth sailing journey ahead. Great chit-chatting with you. Love this community! Cheers!
Hey, sounds like you've got a bit of a pickle on your hands. Can definitely relate, I had something similar with my 2005 Mazda 3 a while ago (it's quite close to your model). It was playing up in the same way. The jerkiness, the stalling, you name it... it felt like the engine was on the brink of a meltdown. Took the old gal to a solid mechanic I know and turns out it really was a dodgy ignition coil. Further probing showed the cable connection to the ignition coil was defective, causing interrupt in spark generate. But don't stress. It wasn't too serious or damaging. Just a quick swap of the faulty coil and cable, bit of a tune-up, and she was humming along like nothing happened. From the sounds of it, you've got a similar issue with your Mazda 6 owing to the symptoms you described. I'd definitely suggest getting it checked by a reliable mechanic pronto - the sooner, the better. It's worth it for your peace of mind and car's durability. Just a quick reminder though - if your fuel economy is noticeably worse, that might be something extra to look at. In my case it wasn't affected. Remember: a stitch in time saves nine. Hope this helps you out!
