Malfunctions in the ABS/DSC system and power steering in BMW 1 Series petrol engine (2015)

ABS/DSC system is not working

Good afternoon, everyone! I'm having problems with my 2015 BMW 1 Series petrol with approx. 132,147 km on the clock. The ABS/DSC system goes on strike, the power steering no longer works and the steering wheel vibrates like crazy. I think it could be a signal error in the electric power steering. Have any of you had similar problems and what did the mechanic say? Would really appreciate any experiences and tips as my last visit to the garage wasn't exactly encouraging. Thanks in advance!

Hello, yes, I can understand that. I once had similar problems with my 2013 BMW 3 Series. The mechanic said at the time that a sensor in the ABS/DSC system could be defective, which would also explain the jerking and the problems with the power steering. It turned out that the problem was actually more serious than expected and the sensor system had to be replaced. I would recommend having this checked. But don't worry, after the repair my car drove like butter again. Greetings!

Hello, thanks for the quick reply. That's exactly what I'm afraid of, that this problem could be more serious than it sounds at first. Can you remember how much you paid for the repair? And have there been any other problems with your car since then? Thank you and best regards!

Hello, sure, no problem either. At the time, the guys in the workshop replaced the control unit, which cost me €415.0. A tidy sum, but since then the car has been running like clockwork again. And the signal error in the electric power steering was also rectified. In other words, no further problems since the workshop visit. It's always annoying when something like this happens, but you feel better afterwards, don't you? See you then!

Hi, thanks for the explanations and advice. 415.0€ is indeed a tidy sum, but if it helps my car to run smoothly again, then it's worth it. I'm also reassured to hear that you haven't had any further problems since. I'm going to make an appointment at the garage tomorrow and hope they can fix the problem quickly. I hope it goes as well as it did for you. Thanks again and best wishes!
