Alarm system malfunctions

Hi, thanks for your quick reply. Well, the alarm system just goes off for no reason and makes the usual alarm noises, so nothing unusual. As I said, I suspect something is wrong with the auxiliary battery, but it's not my area of expertise. I think I'll take your advice and have the contacts checked. By the way, my Koleos has 134610 km on it, if that matters. Do you have any idea how long a repair like this might take? Thanks and best regards!

Yes, it sounds like there's something wrong with the auxiliary battery. The repair on my Megane was done quite quickly, it took a morning. So it shouldn't be much different with your Koleos, assuming it's just the contacts. As for the mileage, that shouldn't have much impact on the repair unless there are other faults that could be related to it. Such as wear and ageing of parts that could affect the function of the alarm system. That being said, I would recommend you get this sorted as soon as possible. I know from experience how annoying a temperamental alarm system can be! Greetings back and good luck with the repair! Take care of yourself!

Hey, thanks for the quick and helpful answer! I can get over a morning, and the costs also seem manageable. You're right, I'll get to work on the repair as soon as possible. Otherwise the alarm system will wake me up during a quiet hour. Stay healthy and see you next time! Greetings!

Hi guys, I had a similar problem with my 2009 Renault Megane, I only have a bit of experience with cars so I'm not exactly the expert. But I have a pretty good garage mechanic who has helped me quite well. On my car, the battery contacts in the siren were faulty, that was our main problem. The repair cost me 235 euros, but after that everything worked again without any problems. Can you give me a few more details about your problem? For example, what kind of noise is the alarm making, or if there are any other symptoms? The more information we have, the better we can help you. Greetings!
