Malfunction of the ABS/DSC system in the 2012 Audi Q3 petrol engine: experience and solutions wanted

ABS/DSC system is not working

Hi, I have a strange problem with my 2012 Audi Q3 petrol car, my ABS/DSC system has stopped working properly and I have an ABS warning light on the speedometer as well as an error in memory. I suspect the Feeler could be a malfunction from the wheel speed sensor (ABS sensor). Have any of you ever had a similar problem? Would appreciate any advice on how you have solved this in the workshop and what experiences you have had. Thanks in advance!

Hey, I had the same problem with my Audi Q5, built in 2010. I'm not a car expert, but I do have a bit of experience with it. In my case, the cable connection from the ABS sensor to the control unit was defective or oxidized. I had it checked at the garage and it cost 350 euros to fix. Can you perhaps provide more information about your vehicle? Then I might be able to help in more detail. Hope this helps you a little!

Hey, thanks for your reply! My Audi already has 157812 km on it and the last time it was checked was during the service about a month ago. Up to that point everything was running pretty smoothly. The ABS/DSC system has only recently started causing problems. I hope this information helps. I will take your advice to heart and get the sensor checked. Thanks again buddy!

Hey, no problem, always happy to help! Now that you've given more details, it sounds even more like a problem with the ABS sensor or the cable connection, like on my Q5. Since your Audi has quite a few miles on it, the connections could simply be affected by general wear and tear. As it has only recently started causing problems, you could either have the ABS/DSC system checked first or check the cable connections just to be sure. It would be a shame if you had the wrong suspicion all along and had to incur the cost of unnecessary repairs. I hope this helps you and your Audi is back in shape soon. Good luck, buddy!

Hey, thanks so much for your helpful advice! I think you're right and it definitely sounds like it could be the ABS system or the cable connections. I will take your advice on board and get my Audi checked asap. You've really helped me out, thanks again for that mate! Have a great day!
