Thanks for sharing your experience! Had the exact same symptoms on my Macan a while back. Really good to know about the wiring harness, that makes sense. Hey, do you remember roughly how much the repair set you back? Also, has everything been working fine since then, or have you noticed any other electrical gremlins pop up?
Hey again! Just wanted to follow up, yeah, I got it fixed at the Porsche specialist I mentioned and it's been working perfectly since then. The total bill came to 180€ for fixing that cable connection issue to the lamp. They found it was pretty much the same problem as I suspected, corroded wiring that was causing those annoying warning lights. Since the repair, I haven't had a single problem with the electrics, everything's been running smooth as silk. No more warning lights, no flickering, nothing. It's such a relief when you get these things sorted properly! The specialist did a great job, and honestly, considering it was a Porsche-certified repair, I thought the price was pretty reasonable. If you're still having issues with your Macan, I'd definitely recommend getting it checked out by a proper Porsche specialist. Better to get it done right the first time than have to deal with ongoing problems, you know what I mean?
Thanks so much for all the info! Just wanted to update you, I took your advice and went to a Porsche specialist yesterday. You were spot on about the wiring! Had almost the same issue, corroded connectors were causing all those warning lights. Cost me about 200€, which wasn't too bad considering it's a Porsche repair. The mechanic was super professional and walked me through everything. Really different experience from my last mechanic who seemed lost with these cars. Took them about two hours to fix everything, and now all the lights are working perfectly. No more warning lights on the dash either! It's such a relief to have it sorted properly. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction, saved me from probably making multiple trips to regular mechanics who might've just made things worse. Really appreciate your help!
Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2018 Porsche Cayenne last month. The warning lights and flickering exterior lights turned out to be a faulty cable connection to the headlamp assembly. At first, I thought it was just a bulb, but my mechanic found corroded wiring harness connectors that were causing intermittent electrical issues. Had to take it to a certified Porsche workshop since my regular mechanic wasn't comfortable doing the electrical work on it. They had to replace part of the wiring harness and clean up the connector points. Wasn't a super serious issue, but definitely needed professional attention to prevent any further electrical problems. My advice would be to skip the general mechanics and go straight to a Porsche specialist. These electrical issues can be tricky to diagnose if you don't know the specific quirks of these cars. While it might just be a bulb, it's worth getting it checked properly to rule out any wiring problems.
