Thanks for sharing your experience! My current mileage is 73880 KM, and I just started noticing these issues about two weeks ago. No visible leaks under the car that I can spot, but I'll definitely have that checked out. The car was serviced about 6 months ago, but it was just routine maintenance, nothing specific to the transmission. I appreciate the tip about the transmission fluid, it's good to know this might be a relatively straightforward fix rather than something more serious. I'll get it checked out by my mechanic this week. Hope it's just a fluid issue like yours was!
Hey again! I completely get what you're going through. Yeah, I remember being pretty worried when my Cayenne started acting up too. Since your mileage is pretty similar to what mine was (I was at around 78000 KM when I had my issues), and the symptoms are basically identical, I'm even more convinced it's probably the same problem. One thing I forgot to mention in my earlier reply, before I got mine fixed, I also noticed the symptoms would get worse after the car had been running for a while, especially on warmer days. Did you notice anything like that? If so, it's another sign pointing to low transmission fluid. Since you mentioned your car was serviced 6 months ago, it might be worth checking if they actually included a transmission fluid check in that routine maintenance. Sometimes it gets overlooked. My mechanic told me these PDK transmissions can be a bit sensitive to fluid levels, and even a small drop below optimal can cause these symptoms. Just keep us posted on what your mechanic finds! Really hope it's just a fluid issue like mine was, way better than dealing with internal transmission problems.
Thanks so much for the additional info! Actually, now that you mention it, I have noticed the symptoms getting worse after longer drives, especially during the afternoon heat. I didn't connect the dots before, but that makes total sense with what you're saying about the fluid levels. I just checked my service records, and you're right, the transmission fluid wasn't part of my last maintenance check. I've already called my mechanic and scheduled an appointment for tomorrow morning. I'll definitely make sure they check the fluid levels first before looking into anything more complicated. Really appreciate all your help and sharing your experience, it's definitely made me feel a lot less anxious about the whole situation. I'll update the thread once I get it sorted out. Thanks again!
Hey there! I had a pretty similar issue with my 2014 Cayenne Diesel last year. I've got some experience working on cars, but transmissions are definitely not my strong suit. My symptoms were almost identical, grinding during shifts and that annoying whining noise. Took it to my trusted workshop and turns out the transmission fluid was critically low, causing all those issues. They did a complete transmission fluid change and recalibration, cost me about 365€ all in. Car's been shifting smooth as butter since then. Could definitely be the same issue with your Macan since they share similar transmissions. Just to help better, what's your current mileage, and have you noticed any leaks under the car? Also, when was the last time you had the transmission serviced?
