Looking for help: Electronic fault and warning light in Peugeot RCZ Diesel (2014) - suspected air conditioning fault

General electric malfunction

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Hey guys, my 2014 Peugeot RCZ Diesel is having problems and I need your help. There is a general electronics fault and a warning light in the speedometer. I think it might be the air conditioning message fault but not sure. Have any of you experienced this before and can give me specific troubleshooting tips? How did you get the problem solved at your garage and what were your experiences? Thanks in advance!

Hi, I had a very similar problem with my 2012 Peugeot 3008 diesel. My knowledge of cars is not particularly high, I only have a little experience. So I'm not a professional, but I can say what worked for me. My car had a faulty cold shut-off valve, which was also causing general electronic problems. My garage repaired it free of charge. Can you give a bit more detail about your vehicle? Maybe it was the same problem for you and I could help you a little more.

Hey, thanks for your advice. Well, my RCZ has already run 44751 kilometers and the last service was a while ago. I haven't had any problems with the cold shut-off valve yet, but maybe it has something to do with that. I'll definitely take it up with my garage. Glad to hear they fixed it for free at your place, maybe I'll be that lucky. Do you have any other suggestions or things I should be aware of?

Hey, glad to hear my tip was helpful. A service appointment would probably be a good idea. If you haven't been to a service for a while, minor maintenance work could also solve the problem, for example a software update. Sometimes this already solves problems with the electronics. Are there certain situations in which the warning light comes on or is it permanently on? It could be, for example, that the warning light comes on due to a problem with the battery. If the battery is no longer working properly, this can also lead to general electrical problems. In any case, it would be great if you could keep us up to date with further developments here. That way, others could also benefit from your experience. Hopefully you will get it solved quickly and inexpensively. Good luck with that!

Hello, thanks again for your help. Yes, the warning light is permanently illuminated and is really worrying me. Since you mentioned the battery, I realize that it is indeed a bit old. Maybe I should replace it. A software update sounds sensible too, I'll bring that up next time I'm at the garage. I really appreciate your help and will definitely keep you posted. Hopefully I can solve the problem soon. Thanks again and see you soon!
