Hey, thanks for your reply! It's good to know that I'm not the only one with this problem. You say your mechanic fixed it for you - can you remember how much it cost you? And has anything unexpected come up again since then or was that the last unplanned repair so far? Thanks in advance!

Hey, no problem, always happy to help! I spent a total of €250 on all the repairs to the alarm system sensors, which I personally found the main thing was that it worked again afterwards without any problems. And yes, I haven't had to have anything done since the anti-theft alarm system's tilt sensor was repaired. It seems that was the culprit. So since the visit to the mechanic, everything has been fine. I haven't had to go back to the garage since then, except for the normal maintenance work. So, cheer up, your GLA can handle it too!

Wow, that's really good to hear! 250 sounds a lot more pleasant than the nightmare I had imagined. I think I'll call my mechanic first thing in the morning and hope for the best. And you're right, regular maintenance is key! Thank you so much for your help, you really made my day. See you next time and always have a good trip with your CLA!

Hey, I can well understand your concerns. I drive a 2015 CLA and had a similar problem with the alarm system a few weeks ago. In my case it was faults in the sensors for the alarm system. Yes, it was a serious problem as it affected the overall security of the car. The thing was, my car alarm would just go off when I was driving and had just parked the car. Pretty embarrassing, right? My mechanic had to check the sensors and alarm system, remove and replace some parts. He said that it's a common problem and that it's better to fix it as soon as possible to avoid a complete alarm system failure or false alarms. After that was done, I had no further problems. It was definitely a lesson for me to have my car checked regularly. Hope this helps you. Good luck with your GLA!
