Looking for advice and workshop experience due to low brake fluid level warning light on Peugeot 508 Diesel (2018)

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Hey guys, there's a strange problem with my Peugeot 508 Diesel (built in 2018). A warning light in the speedometer and I have a suspicion that the brake fluid level might be too low. Has anyone ever experienced something like this and can give me tips as to what could be the cause? I would be particularly interested in your experiences with garages that have fixed this problem. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my Peugeot 508 diesel (built in 2016). I have medium experience with cars and I suspect it could be a leak in the brake system. I went to my garage and they found the leak and fixed it. It cost me 405 euros, but since then the car has been running perfectly again. So that I can tell you more, what information do you have about your vehicle? Which model exactly and what extras? The more details, the better I can help you.

Hey, thanks for the reply! My Peugeot is the Allure variant with a few extras including adaptive cruise control and Matrix LED headlights. Last full service was at 150000 km, currently it has 179171 km down. I hope this helps a little.

Sure, that definitely helps me! My Allure model had about 170000 km on the clock at the time. During the service, they found the defective part in my brake system and replaced it. This could also be the case for you. Maybe my information that the workshop visit took me about 1 day will help. So be prepared to have to leave the car in the workshop a little longer. The extras shouldn't actually have any influence on the problem. The adaptive cruise control and Matrix LED headlights are cool, but probably irrelevant here. I'm curious to see what the cause is in your case. Let me know when you've been to the garage and what the diagnosis is.

Hey, thanks for the info! Your experience has really helped me and I'm going to take my car to the garage for a check. I'm already preparing myself for the fact that it might take a while. As soon as I know anything new or have the diagnosis, I'll keep you up to date here. It's really cool to have such a helpful community!

Servus, Either you have a leak in the brake system or the sensor in the reservoir is defective. What is actually the simplest possibility is that the brake fluid level is too low due to a worn brake. Why don't you have this checked?
