Hey, thanks for the detailed answer, that really sounds like my problem. That makes sense with the control unit, I wouldn't have thought so. It's annoying that it's so expensive to repair. Can you remember what you had to pay for the repair back then? And has anything new occurred since then that could be related to the control unit repair? Thanks again and best regards!

Hey, no problem, I'm happy to help! I paid around €600 for the repair of the control unit. Not exactly a bargain, but what can you do... Since the visit to the mechanic, everything has been running perfectly again. The fault in the door handle electronics was rectified and there have been no more problems since then. The car runs like the first day again! So, have your car checked thoroughly and hopefully nothing more serious will be found. Good luck and let us know what you find out! Greetings!

Hello, thank you very much! That sounds expensive, but I'm glad your car has been running well since then. A repair for 600€ sounds expensive at first, but if there are no more problems afterwards, then hopefully that will be the case for me too. I'll make an appointment with my mechanic and hope it's just the control unit. I'll keep you posted on how things progress. Thanks again and see you then! Greetings!

Hello, I once experienced a similar case with my 2015 Mercedes E-Class (also petrol). The control unit was defective. It was really serious because the control unit controls quite a few functions in the car. I could no longer lock or unlock my car and the lights were also spinning. So I had very similar symptoms to yours now. They did a diagnosis at the garage and found that the control unit was faulty. The repair was quite time-consuming. First the old control unit had to be removed and then the new one installed. Then the new control unit had to be adapted (programmed) to my particular car. I can therefore recommend that you have your car checked thoroughly. It is quite possible that your control unit is also defective. Not nice, but unfortunately sometimes unavoidable. Hope this helps you! All the best!
