Hey, thanks for the info! Sounds like that could be my problem too. It really gives you some peace of mind to have an idea of what might be going on. Can you still remember what you paid for the repair at the garage? And were there any further problems afterwards or was everything back to normal? Best regards!

Hey, I'm glad I could help you. I spent around €1000 to repair the defective engine control unit. It wasn't exactly cheap, but my Ford has been running like a champ ever since. No more light problems and the warning light doesn't come on either. After the repair, the workshop also updated the vehicle software at the same time. Since then, the software installed in the vehicle is no longer faulty. So yes, I would say that everything is back in the green zone. I hope it will be the same for you! Best regards!

Hey, wow, €1000 is a lot of money, but if it helps and I don't have any more problems afterwards, it's probably worth the investment. At least now I have an idea of what I might be up against. I will definitely go to a garage and have it checked. Better expensive than taking a chance, if you know what I mean. I also hope that after the repair and update of the software, everything will work perfectly for me again. Many thanks for your help! It has helped a lot. Best regards!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my Ford Focus (petrol engine, year of manufacture 2010). After diagnosis, it turned out that the engine control unit was defective. Just like you, dim lights, flickering and a warning light in the speedometer were the symptoms. It's a serious issue because the ECU is responsible for coordinating the electronics, including the lights. On my last visit to the garage, the technicians replaced the engine control unit and updated the vehicle software. So, a faulty engine control unit could possibly be the culprit in your Ford too. I would recommend having this checked by a specialist. Greetings!
