Hey there, Thanks for sharing your experience. It's reassuring to know I'm not the only one dealing with these weird transmission issues. I'll definitely be giving your suggestion a whirl. Checking the transmission oil level didn't really cross my mind, but it sounds like the first logical thing to do, given your experience with your Lexus NX. Quick question though, do you remember at all what kind of hit your wallet took when sorting this out? Also, did anything else crop up after you got it fixed or has your baby been smooth sailing since? Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks again!
Hey! Totally get where you're coming from with the concern for the wallet. So, I'm gonna say it straight, it cost me around 365€ to mend the problem related to the transmission oil level being too low. No surprises, cars can be a pricey business, right? And about your other question, you remember the thing I mentioned about the Transmission oil pressure sensor? Well, when I saw the mechanic, it turns out there was indeed a malfunction with it. Lucky for me, it got fixed in the same run and my gal's been running like a dream since then, no extra issues popping up. Always remember, it's better to fix these things upfront, even if it means parting with a few hundred Euro. It could turn out to be a blessing in disguise! Hoping yours turns out to be an easy fix too. Keep us posted. Good luck!
Hey! Thanks for your really insightful and detailed reply. My mind's quite at ease now. I guess a few hundred Euro is a small price to pay for the peace of mind that comes with knowing my car's in tip-top shape. Better to dish out now rather than facing a bigger blow later on. I'll surely be taking your counsel and check the transmission oil level soon. Also, I won't forget to consider other stuff like the transmission oil pressure sensor that you brought up. Again, I appreciate you sharing your experience and the costs you encountered. I’ll keep you and everyone else updated about what happens next. Let’s hope for the best! Thanks a bunch and cheers!
Hey there, Looks like we've been in the same boat. I've got a '16 Lexus NX Turbo that had a similar issue not long ago. Like you, I was bugged with the erratic shifts, transmission slips, and that grinding sound you mentioned, it was no fun ride, let me tell you that. Turned out my transmission oil level was too low. Now, that could be happening due to some leak, or perhaps the transmission oil hasn't been checked and topped up for a long time. It wasn't the pressure sensor in my case but low oil levels messing with the transmission. Once I got that sorted on my Lexus, it was smoother sailing. I recommend you to check the oil levels first and go from there. I reckon it’s one of the major things to look after to maintain the car's guts and glory but often ignored. Always remember, mechanics aren't wizards, they troubleshoot based on symptoms and past experiences. Maybe it's an easy fix, who knows? So, get a second opinion if you need to, but don't ignore the warning light. Cheers and good luck!
