Hey there, thanks a lot for your detailed response. It's really nice to hear this from someone who has gone through a similar situation. It seems like getting my Lexus LX to the garage is unavoidable. After hearing about your experience, I reckon that I need to have the wiring harness checked out ASAP for any possible damage. Just out of curiosity, do you recall how much you shelled out for the whole repair process? Also, have you encountered any other issues with your Lexus after getting the wiring harness fixed? Let me know. Cheers!
Hey! Happy I could help. If memory serves me correctly, I parted with about 155€ to have the wiring harness to the boost pressure actuator repaired. Since doing that, I've been glad to say that the whole boost pressure actuator issue seems to have been put to bed. Car's been running smoothly, no black smoke or shaky idles, no odd noises. It's like it's gotten a new lease on life. So I definitely recommend you get it sorted out soonest. It's an investment really, taking care of it now will save you some costly engine repair down the road. Cheers!
Thanks a ton for this helpful information. I'm relieved to hear that your Lexus LX is running smoothly post repair. The cost doesn't sound too outrageous considering the damage it could potentially prevent. Now, I'll definitely get my car inspected by a trustworthy mechanic without any delays. Knowing that your issue was resolved gives me a good direction to head in and a fair amount of confidence. Let's hope my ride also gets a new lease on life like yours! Thanks again. Take care, and cheers!
Hey there, I've been through almost the same scenario as yours. I own a 2014 Lexus LX Diesel. A few months back, I started noticing similar jerky acceleration and a rough idle. My car also had that weird whistle and hissing noise when revving up the engine, along with the check engine light glowing. I had to get my ride to the garage, and after a full checkup, it turned out that the wiring harness to the boost pressure actuator was out of whack. It was causing misreads between the turbocharger and the engine control module. So about the gravity of the issue: yes, it was a pretty serious one. This isn't something you'd want to keep driving around with. If not addressed timely, the inadequate or excess boost can cause severe engine damage. It is pertinent to repair the wiring harness to prevent further damages to the engine. The work my mechanic had to do involved checking the entire wiring harness to the actuator, diagnosing the exact area of damage, and finally repairing it. It might prove to be a bit time-consuming depending on the extent of the damage. All in all, a trip to the mechanic is absolutely necessary for you. Just make sure you find a reliable one who knows their stuff. And don't put off getting it fixed - better to nip this issue in the before it causes more serious engine problems. Good luck!
