Hey there, thanks for sharing this. Sounds like you nailed the same problem I'm having with my LX. Just wanted to know, do you remember what the damage to your wallet was for cleaning out that troublesome EGR valve and sorting out the issue? Also, since you got it fixed, has anything else cropped up related to it? Cheers!
Hey, good to hear back from you! As for the cost, it wasn't exactly a small change, set me back around 355€ to get the EGR valve cleared out and working again. I must say though, it was definitely worth it. And touch wood, since having it fixed by the mechanic, my Lexus has been humming along just fine, nothing directly related to the EGR valve has cropped up. So yeah, fingers crossed, hopefully getting the EGR valve sorted out will solve your problems as well. Best of luck!
Appreciate your response! Quite useful to have a figure in mind and it's great to know your Lexus is running without any further problems. I'm going to hunt for a good mechanic around here, fingers crossed, hopefully I'll find a good one. Thanks for your help, this conversation has been really helpful. Best of luck to you as well!
Hey, sounds like you've got the same issue I did with my 2018 Lexus LX, diesel. From what I understand, the symptoms you're describing are pretty much what I was dealing with too. The EGR valve on mine got stuck, and what a headache that was. The check engine light was constantly on, a lot like your situation. The engine also cut out unexpectedly on me a couple of times. I can tell you, that doesn't make for a smooth ride at all. My car was also shuddering at idle, and the power was definitely down. I remember the EGR valve causing all sort of trouble. Basically, what needed to be done is cleaning the gunk out of the EGR valve and getting it unstuck. Can't say it was a small issue but still a one off problem. As for who can sort out this for you, wish I could help. You might want to ask around locally. Anyway, hope your wagon's back on track soon, good luck!
