Thanks for sharing your experience! That's really helpful since I've been worried about my Legend. Glad to hear you got yours sorted out, it does sound exactly like what I'm dealing with. Good to know about checking the whole EVAP system too. If you don't mind me asking, do you remember roughly how much the repairs set you back? Also, has everything been running smoothly since then, or have you noticed any other issues pop up?
Hey there! Happy to give you an update. After seeing the mechanic last week, they confirmed it was indeed the tank ventilation system that was acting up, just like I suspected with my Accord. The total bill came to 175€ for fixing the faulty hoses. Money well spent if you ask me! Since the repair, my car's been running like a dream, no more shaking, stalling, or any of that nonsense. It's amazing what a difference those new hoses made! The idle is smooth as silk now, and the power delivery is back to normal. I've put quite a few kilometers on it since then, and honestly, it feels just like when I first got it. I'd definitely encourage you to get yours checked out sooner rather than later. Trust me, you'll notice the difference right away, and it'll prevent any potential damage to other parts of your fuel system. Sometimes these small fixes can prevent bigger headaches down the road! Let me know if you need any other info, always happy to help out a fellow Honda owner!
Thanks so much for the detailed follow-up! I actually took your advice and got my Legend checked out yesterday. The mechanic found the same issue, faulty hoses in the tank ventilation system. They had to replace three hoses and a sensor, but the total cost wasn't too bad compared to what I was expecting. Got the car back today and wow, what a difference! No more jerking or rough idling. The engine's purring like a kitten now, and the check engine light is finally off. It's such a relief knowing it wasn't something more serious. Really appreciate everyone's help and advice here. It definitely gave me the confidence to get it sorted quickly instead of waiting around and potentially causing more damage. Now I know what to look out for if these symptoms ever show up again! Thanks again for sharing your experience, it was spot on and really helped me out!
Had similar issues with my 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid last winter. The symptoms matched yours exactly, rough running, power loss, and that annoying shake at idle. Turned out the purge valve in the evaporative emission control system was stuck open, and several vacuum hoses were cracked. The mechanic added two new hoses and replaced the purge valve. It was quite a serious issue since it affected the entire fuel system performance and emissions control. Could've damaged other components if left unfixed. The car's been running smoothly since the repair, no more jerking or stalling. If I were you, I'd get it checked soon to prevent any additional damage to the fuel system. The Legend's system is actually quite similar to my Accord's. Quick tip: Make sure they check the whole EVAP system, not just the purge valve. Those hoses can be tricky to spot when they're cracked.
